Dr. Sandy Caldwell, WCCC Executive Director

The Wyoming Community College Commission is pleased to announce that Dr. Sandra Caldwell has agreed to become the next executive director of the Commission upon the retirement of Dr. Jim Rose.  Dr. Caldwell comes to the Commission from Reedley College, Fresno, CA where she served as president.  She has previously worked for a Wyoming community college and is a graduate of Leadership Wyoming.  She brings significant knowledge of Wyoming, the importance of education to our state, and the role community colleges play in supporting the workforce.  During the interview process, Dr. Caldwell shared her enthusiasm for Wyoming and her desire to work with key stakeholders to continue the momentum established by Dr. Rose.

Her experience with community colleges, overseeing colleges with multiple sites and centers, gives her the skills needed to represent the State of Wyoming’s interests with the state’s seven community colleges.  A priority for the new director will be working collaboratively with the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the President of the University of Wyoming, to facilitate seamless transitions for Wyoming’s students.  The Wyoming Community College Commission is looking forward to working with Dr. Caldwell to serve the educational needs of Wyoming citizens
