The Wyoming Community College Commission (WCCC) is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Ben Moritz as of January 1, 2024 as the new Commission Executive Director. Dr. Moritz's appointment concludes an eight month search in which the WCCC sought a collaborative leader skilled in coordination and advocacy to further the transformational mission of the eight autonomous and independently accredited colleges that serve the great State of Wyoming. Wyoming higher education is unique in many ways. Relationships are the needle and thread that weave the tapestry of geography, weather, small populations, and autonomously governed communities together. From the front-range high plains in the east to the towering Tetons in the west and every county in between, the eight colleges serve the breadth of the state while enriching their districts by serving as cultural and social hubs. The Director of the WCCC will be a data-informed and policy-driven advocate who exudes passion for the transformational role of higher education in the lives of Wyoming’s citizens and communities. Dr. Moritz will forge relationships with Commissioners, Commission staff, the community colleges, trustees, leadership and staff, the University of Wyoming, the Governor’s Office, and the Legislature by visiting, listening, and learning.
